Once, a million years ago. I got a camera for Christmas. I snapped photos of the decorations, of our cats, of the landscape and felt like a real professional. Especially when a caught a particularly gorgeous sunset in the winter evening.
Somehow it ballooned from there. I got into yearbook at school and loved designing the pages, fiddling in photoshop and making captions, I liked less the idea of shoving the camera into people's faces and distracting them from whatever it was they were doing. After all, I am the sort who would much rather be behind the camera than in front. Something about not being overly photogenic. Either way, I eventually got a gorgeous Canon DSLR for my 18th birthday, as I had been musing about getting into journalism or even photojournalism. I ended up in teaching.
Nevertheless, photography has remained a great passion of mine and in this particular area you will find what I have thus far created in my travels and living of life.
Enjoy the ever-growing hoard.
